Lately, it seems we’re always reading in the mainstream media about the imminent demise of the Catholic Church in America. Supposedly, young Catholics are abandoning the faith in a stampede that will soon empty the churches and leave the few remaining clergy preaching to no one.  

This issue’s cover story, “Young and Catholic,” is the antidote to all that, offering ample evidence that the rumors of the Church’s collapse – and its wholesale abandonment by the next generation – are greatly exaggerated. You’ll meet schoolgirls devoted to the Blessed Mother, middle schoolers serving the poor and hungry, and teens and young adults whose selfless dedication to the faith and their fellow humans is an inspiration – and a source of hope – to their elders. Their stories give us confidence that the future of the Church is in good hands.
